Job summary

Rotork in Rochester, NY, is seeking a Manufacturing Lean Manager to lead lean manufacturing, CI initiatives, and an Engineering/Technician team in developing and optimizing manufacturing methods and tooling. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and process excellence across production.

You will drive waste reduction, productivity improvements, and cost savings, while mentoring staff and coordinating with Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to ensure successful production launches

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Associate Degree in Manufacturing Engineering with 3–5 years of relevant manufacturing experience may be acceptable.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial experience in an assembly/manufacturing environment with significant technical responsibility.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent Continuous Improvement certification.
• Experience leading process improvement projects with measurable improvements in productivity, quality, delivery, inventory, or cost.
• Experience supervising Manufacturing Engineers, Technicians or other technical personnel in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of Lean tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of 2–4 Engineers and/or Technicians.
• Design, implement, and document shop floor processes adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize new manufacturing methods and procedures.
• Participate in audits of company activities and processes.
• Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support production and testing.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to support sourcing and mitigate constraints.
• Support Quality in reviewing non-conforming components and corrective actions with suppliers.
• Provide technical manufacturing support including documentation control and equipment maintenance.
• Lead root cause analysis and problem resolution activities.
• Review and improve engineering drawings, BOMs, and process docs for manufacturability.
• Investigate new manufacturing technologies and provide cost estimates for proposals.
• Support NPI activities and manufacturing readiness for launches.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration to drive improvement.
