Job summary

Ilocatum is seeking an Operational Excellence Manager at its Bay Shore, NY facility to lead Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work with operators, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to reduce waste, improve flow, increase capacity, and deliver measurable improvements in quality, delivery, cost, and inventory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or operations.
• At least 7 years manufacturing experience with 3+ years Lean/Operational Excellence.
• Proven track record in waste reduction and throughput improvement.
• Hands-on in value-stream mapping, kaizen, and PDCA.
• Experience in aerospace/regulated environment preferred.
• Strong analytical and cross-functional influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify manufacturing waste, bottlenecks, and process variation through shop-floor observation and data analysis.
• Lead kaizen events and projects from planning through implementation and sustained results.
• Apply Lean methods including 5S/6S, standard work, visual management, Kanban, and SMED.
• Improve material, labor, and information flow across manufacturing and support functions.
• Establish performance baselines for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Develop Lean deployment roadmap aligned with priorities and new product introduction.
• Coach supervisors, engineers, and operators in problem-solving and Lean methods.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, Maintenance, Finance, and HR.
