Job summary

Hearth Products Control Company seeks an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to design, plan, and deliver manufacturing system solutions that optimize cost, capital investment, and quality. You will work with sales, finance, engineering, and operations to develop products focused on performance and manufacturability.

You will lead lean initiatives, map processes, and apply DMAIC/8D methodologies to reduce waste, increase throughput, and ensure continuous improvement at the site.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience within a manufacturing servicing and assembly shop environment.
• Experience with 3D CAD Software is required.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Advanced working knowledge of process improvements and manufacturing industry best practice.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is required.
• Lean processes and workflows development knowledge is required.
• Manufacturing techniques knowledge is required.
• ISO standards knowledge is required.
• Six Sigma or Lean tools/certifications familiarity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Set the process, train, and create standard work and tools for the team to use.
• Process map end-to-end processes, identify non-value-add activities and cost of poor quality.
• Identify opportunities for automation, fixturing, and gauges to remove waste and increase capacity.
• Lead lean manufacturing projects and develop control plans using lean tools.
• Conduct data collection and analysis to identify improvements for processes and projects.
