Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive productivity and efficiency through analysis, design, and implementation of tools, processes, and equipment. The role rotates across projects and departments to expose the candidate to diverse manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities include optimizing workflow, calculating costs, and reporting on trends, with focus on productivity targets and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering from an accredited university.
• Training with AutoCAD or other layout and design software.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; gather input from operators, stakeholders, and equipment manufacturers.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; review production schedules; estimate future requirements.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Assist with managing capital expenditures as assigned, including project identification, justification, and completion.
• Deliver on productivity targets as outlined in the annual operating plan.
