Job summary

Actalent in Maple Grove, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive end-to-end manufacturing projects, implement capital equipment, and maintain robust documentation. You will lead a small team of technicians, apply Lean methodologies, and ensure safe, efficient production with strong cross-functional collaboration.

The role focuses on CAPEX justification, production tooling design, and data-driven process improvements to boost throughput, quality, and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience and track record of improvements.
• Experience leading projects with planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge incl. 5S and continuous improvement.
• SolidWorks CAD proficiency; CAD documentation experience.
• Experience maintaining manufacturing docs and work instructions.
• CAPEX justification and implementation experience.
• MRP/ERP experience for production planning and control.
• Strong analytical, RCCA, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and mentoring of technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from initiation to completion with plans, budgets, and milestones.
• Apply Lean tools to optimize layouts, flow, and reduce waste (5S).
• Analyze processes; recommend efficiency, throughput, quality, and cost actions.
• Prepare technical/financial CAPEX justifications; oversee deployment.
• Design production fixtures and tooling to support quality and safety.
• Troubleshoot issues with RCCA and implement long-term fixes.
• Manage ECOs; ensure evaluation, documentation, and communication.
• Update WIs and specs reflecting best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams.
• Mentor and guide manufacturing technicians on projects.
• Use SolidWorks to model fixtures and layouts; support CAD needs.
• Leverage MRP/ERP for planning and process control.
• Monitor KPIs and drive data-based continuous improvements.
