Job summary

Altec Fenex (Altec) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Sandoval, IL team. You will help ensure manufacturing aligns with engineering docs and drive design-for-manufacturability improvements.

You will lead lean initiatives, support product introductions, and coordinate with Operations, Sales, and Service to optimize costs, delivery, and safety. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• ABET EAC certified engineering degree required.
• Preferred majors: Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural, or Aerospace Engineering.
• At least 2 years of lean manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work with a team with minimal supervision; willing to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Ensures manufacturing is building product in conformance to current engineering documentation.
• Reviews the design of components and parts for design-for-manufacturability.
• Monitors costs, manpower efficiency, machine capability, space utilization, etc., and recommends revisions in manufacturing methods.
• Leads continuous improvement efforts in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Productivity.
• Leads integration of new designs into Manufacturing.
• Drives implementation of capital projects.
• Interfaces with Suppliers and Customers; supports Operations, Sales, and Service.
• Applies Lean principles to improve products and processes.
• May manage Altec projects or act as Team Lead; develops and maintains manufacturing work instructions.
