Job summary

Altec Fenex in Sandoval, IL, located about an hour east of Saint Louis, MO, seeks an experienced Design Engineer to develop vehicle schematics, configurations, and BOMs to meet customer specifications for quotes and production while supporting manufacturing.

The position requires an ABET EAC engineering degree, 2+ years lean manufacturing experience, and strong communication with the ability to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• ABET EAC certified degree in Engineering required.
• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Agricultural or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
• At least 2 years lean manufacturing engineering experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must work with team and with minimal supervision.
• Willing to travel up to 25% (potentially on short notice).

Responsibilities

• Develop vehicle schematics and configurations.
• Design for customer quotation.
• Develop and maintain BOMs.
• Design new products/components.
• Apply fundamental engineering concepts and procedures.
• Communicate with customers on technical specs and design.
• Support Operations, Sales, and Service.
• Interface with Suppliers and Customers.
• Learn and utilize Lean principles to improve products and processes.
• Work within Altec departments as assigned to grow knowledge and skills.
