Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Minnesota seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to advance production processes, reduce costs, and drive lean improvements. You will support operations, conduct time studies, optimize tooling, and collaborate across teams to ensure smooth transitions from design to production.

A strong background in 6S, lean principles, and CAD/ERP tools is required. The role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork, continuous improvement, and hands-on training in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred; sciences with operations experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing engineering support to the operations team.
• Lead continuous improvement in quality, cycle times, cost, and process using lean and value engineering.
• Eliminate variances impacting financial results.
• Perform time studies to optimize routings and balance assembly processes.
• Define, set up, and optimize manufacturing tooling and automated equipment.
• Ensure value stream mapping and implementation of logistical flows for cells.
• Create and maintain procedures and specs for equipment and tests.
• Train workforce and ensure traceability to sustain competencies.
• Collaborate with other departments and suppliers on quality issues.
• Support NPI with cross-functional engineers to transition designs to production.
• Create/manage Engineering Change Orders using ERP and CAD systems.
