Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or engineering technology preferred.
• Demonstrated practical manufacturing experience.
• CAD experience preferred.
• CNC programming experience preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of CNC metal cutting equipment and processes.
• Strong knowledge of troubleshooting manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of fixture & gage design and use.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles.
• Knowledge of capability studies, gage R&R, PFMEA, Kaizen.
• Strong communication proficiency, organized, detailed.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple and significantly complex projects with critical thinking.
• Develop machining and assembly processes for Ruger products.
• Design jigs, fixtures and gauges; select cutting tools.
• Program CNC machines and CAM; ensure tight tolerances.
• Implement production quality systems and gauging methods.
• Improve processes to reduce cost and improve capability.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns as needed.
• Support LEAN initiatives across the plant.
