Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to oversee and improve CNC machined rifle and pistol component processes. You will design new processes, select machines, fixtures, tooling, and write control plans and work instructions to drive quality and throughput.

The role involves cost savings analysis, project tracking, and hands-on production support across high-volume machining, assembly, and automation. A degreed engineer with CAD/CAM/ SOLIDWORKS skills is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering required.
High level of technical expertise and analytical thinking.
Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as SOLIDWORKS and basic Monday.com knowledge.
Experience in using CAD, CAM, and data analysis programs.

Responsibilities

Design new processes from start to finish including machine selection, fixtures, gauges, tooling, control plans, work instructions, tool life studies, and heat treat studies.
Identify areas for improvement and cost savings analysis.
Determine problem resolutions and implement improvements to quality and throughput.
Track tasks and projects with Engineering Lead and Supervisor using Monday.com boards and spreadsheets.
Maintain organization and project management to ensure on-time delivery and product quality.
Resolve quality issues using inspection, data collection, basic dimensional stack-ups, and control plan edits.
Develop detailed layouts and routings for equipment, processes, and workflow.
Provide day-to-day production support for high-volume CNC machining, assembly, metal finishing, and automation.
Edit and improve process drawings, quality control plans, operator instructions, and routings using SIG Agile PLM.
Support senior Manufacturing Engineers with improvement of new processes, equipment, and products.
Maintain research, activity documentation, and prepare reports.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and legal regulations.
Engage in continuous improvement projects and miscellaneous duties.
