Job summary

Wanzl North America in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support day-to-day operations and provide engineering guidance for production, tool room, and maintenance. The role focuses on implementing lean and 5S, creating process documentation, and developing BOMs, routings, and PFMEA.

Candidates should be hands-on, self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a team to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering / Technology with 3-5 years experience in manufacturing (metalworking: welding, forming, robotics).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels.
• Hands-on with strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement lean and 5S principles; drive KPI improvements using CMMS and OEE data.
• Support production, tooling, and maintenance with engineering input.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, BOMs, routings, PFMEA, and work instructions.
• Lead projects including capital expenditures and cost reductions.
• Provide SolidWorks models for tooling and fixtures.
