Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Lean Manager I to support the Operating Group and Project Teams in defining and executing lean innovation agendas and project standard work. You will collaborate with staff at all levels, coach teams in continuous improvement, and drive 5S practices and the Kaizen approach across field operations.

Qualifications include a degree in construction or related fields, at least six years in construction or manufacturing, and experience applying continuous improvement in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and field experience.
• Minimum of six years' construction or manufacturing experience.
• Minimum of three years' experience applying continuous improvement in construction or manufacturing environments.
• Current driver's license.
• Ability to travel up to 75%.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Create partnerships with project leadership to gain buy-in for lean approaches.
• Lead by example, coaching team members in applying continuous improvement.
• Promote lean principles onsite and identify opportunities for improvements.
• Support leaders in preparing for and following up on improvement events.
• Engage field leaders to build capability in Kaizen after events.
• Measure baseline performance and ensure visibility of improvements across projects.
• Recognize crews and teams for contributions to improvements.
• Develop and implement "Production Preparation Process" for new scopes of work.
• Support the lead project Superintendent to champion 5S practices.
