Job summary

Gore is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to support three-shift, complex manufacturing and development of materials for medical devices and biopharmaceutical applications at the Elkton, MD site. You will apply Lean and Six Sigma, drive data-based decisions, and lead cross-functional projects to improve efficiency and lead times.

The role requires collaboration across teams, problem-solving using simulation, and mentoring others in Lean practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role.
• Hands-on experience driving structured problem solving and process improvements in a manufacturing environment using formal methodologies.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and tools to drive out waste and standardize work and flow.
• Knowledge of Industrial Engineering fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, initiate, drive to completion, and concurrently manage multiple projects.
• Experience performing simulation analysis.

Responsibilities

• Apply Industrial Engineering fundamentals and Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to solve problems and make process improvements.
• Drive data-based decision making through data analytics and scenario analysis using simulation tools.
• Optimize material flow, standardize work, reduce lead times with Lean methods.
• Lead cross-functional projects to successful completion and own processes and outcomes as appropriate.
• Coach and mentor associates on Lean methodology and quality systems software.
• Leverage ERP, MES, CAD, and statistics software to support operations.
