Therma-Stor in Madison, WI seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to drive productivity and safety by applying lean standards to light assembly. You will coordinate with Engineering and Supply Chain to balance lines and standardize work instructions.

The role requires 1–3 years of Lean in manufacturing, a BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, and strong communication. You will use CRM/JDE for routings and support ergonomic improvements and component tracking initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of Lean experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across all levels.
  • Basic database programming (Access, SQL) is required.
  • Ability to lift, bend, inspect visually, and maintain safe work habits.
  • Experience with brazing/welding and HVAC knowledge is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop production line balancing for varying staffing and layouts.
  • Create work instructions from line-balancing plans.
  • Perform capacity analysis using forecast data.
  • Apply DMAIC tools to justify improvement projects.
  • Improve part presentation with flow racking and ergonomics.
  • Maintain routings in CRM/JDE and analyze line/product benefits.
  • Advance component tracking with QRM DAQ and audits.
  • Identify ergonomic improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain as needed.
