Job summary

Mueller Water Products, Inc. is seeking a Foundry Process Engineer for our state-of-the-art Decatur, IL foundry. You will drive lean initiatives, define process improvements, and collaborate with leadership to maximize quality and on-time delivery.

You will lead process engineering efforts across manufacturing and front/back office areas, coach a skilled team, and pursue profitability through improved product development and streamlined operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in manufacturing with high-speed machining and foundry operations.
• Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
• Excellent PC/Systems skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM, technical specifications and project management.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop the Foundry's process improvement plan.
• Ensure lean tools maximize productivity and throughput while minimizing lead time and WIP.
• Improve front and back office processes with lean methods to maximize efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and growth via new product introduction.
• Build and coach a high-quality process engineering team.
• Identify and implement best-in-class lean processes and infrastructure.
• Provide leadership on special projects such as facility expansion or consolidation.
