Job summary

Mueller Water Products, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design, study and implementation of manufacturing methods for our valve and water infrastructure products.

You will target cost reduction, process improvements and operational excellence across foundry operations. You will apply Lean and Six Sigma tools, perform CNC programming as required, mentor technicians, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to deliver reliable, compliant production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6–8 years in manufacturing with high-speed machining and foundry ops.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools experience.
• Strong PC/Systems knowledge; CNC experience preferred.
• Automation/robotic applications knowledge preferred.
• Strong leadership, communications and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of complex manufacturing, hardware specs, quality standards, CAD/CAM.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate processes by applying design, fabrication, assembly knowledge and vendor input.
• Study product requirements; design, modify, test manufacturing methods and equipment.
• Improve efficiency by planning workflows and layouts.
• Ensure product/process quality; design tests and establish standards.
• Provide cost and production data; review schedules and future needs.
• Collect/analyze data; maintain product/process data in computer systems.
• Perform CNC programming as required to update processes.
• Support engineering, manufacturing, and QA with data and solutions.
• Implement new systems/procedures; drive continuous improvement with DFMEA/DOE.
• Keep equipment operational; coordinate maintenance as needed.
• Develop staff; provide mentorship and professional development.
• Stay current with education and professional networks; meet regulatory requirements.
