Job summary

Adecco is seeking an experienced Process Engineer for a state-of-the-art foundry in Decatur, IL. You will partner with Foundry leadership to develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies that boost quality, throughput, and customer value.

You will drive process improvements, apply Lean and Six Sigma tools, and support major projects such as facility expansions. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in manufacturing, with high-speed machining or foundry experience and strong collaboration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 5+ years manufacturing experience, preferably with high-speed machining and foundry operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Excellent computer and technical systems skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with quality standards, product development, CAD/CAM, technical specifications, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop process improvement plans and lean manufacturing strategies.
  • Implement Lean and Six Sigma tools and methods.
  • Optimize manufacturing and transactional processes to reduce waste and lead times.
  • Improve equipment reliability and support new product development.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives and major projects such as facility expansions.
  • Provide strategic support across operations and engineering.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join a state-of-the-art foundry operation in Decatur, IL. This role will partner with Foundry leadership to develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies that improve quality, productivity, throughput, delivery, customer value, and overall operational performance.

Key responsibilities include developing process improvement plans, implementing Lean and Six Sigma tools, optimizing manufacturing and transactional processes, reducing waste and lead times, improving equipment reliability, and supporting new product development. The Process Engineer will also help develop engineering talent, lead cross-functional improvement initiatives, and provide strategic support for major projects such as facility expansions and process improvements.

The ideal candidate has a strong drive for results, customer focus, technical expertise, innovation, and teamwork, along with the ability to solve complex manufacturing challenges and work effectively with employees at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably involving high-speed machining and foundry operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Excellent computer and technical systems skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with quality standards, product development, CAD/CAM, technical specifications, and project management.

Estimated Salary: $80,000–$90,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on experience. Full benefit package, 401k match and paid vacation.
