Job summary

Mueller Water Products, Inc. is seeking a Foundry Process Engineer for our new green sand foundry. You will lead manufacturing method improvements, control costs, and design processes to meet operational excellence goals.

You will analyze data, develop methods, and support multiple departments with engineering solutions, while mentoring staff and driving continuous improvement across the foundry operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering required.
• 6–8 years in high-speed machining and foundry operations.
• Experience with capital projects scope development and management.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
• Strong PC/Systems knowledge.
• CNC experience preferred.
• Knowledge of automation and robotics preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate manufacturing processes with design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials knowledge.
• Study product requirements and develop manufacturing processes.
• Improve efficiency through workflow and layout optimization.
• Ensure product and process quality with testing methods and standards.
• Compute production costs and labor/material requirements.
• Summarize data trends and maintain process data in systems.
• Perform CNC programming to update machining processes.
• Support engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance with data and solutions.
• Implement new systems and procedures as designed.
• Use FMEA/DFMEA/DOE to drive improvements.
• Coordinate maintenance to keep equipment operational.
• Mentor staff and maintain professional knowledge.
