Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC offers a College Programs internship and co-op experience designed to bridge academics with real-world manufacturing and analytics work. Interns complete structured projects, gain exposure to leadership, and present outcomes in a summer expo.

Co-ops extend longer with additional responsibilities and mentorship. Participants work on data-driven improvements, process mapping, and cross-functional teams, with potential consideration for full-time roles after graduation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2.5 GPA
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in engineering, science, business, or related field
• Strong planning and analytical skills
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Proven working experience in a team environment
• Experience in systems thinking and process management
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Desired experience with data analysis and Lean Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Intern assignment is generally 10-12 weeks; co-op assignment generally 16-18 weeks with an assigned project and opportunities to present your work.
• Collaborate on other exciting projects and work with talented peers and inspirational leaders.
• Immersive onboarding and offboarding experience, assigned a mentor, networking opportunities, organized events, activities, and community service/volunteer initiatives.
• Opportunity to impact the future of the organization while being exposed to a world-class program community.
• Rising senior interns and co-ops are considered for full-time employment opportunities.
• Analyze data for cycle time, OEE% and downtime causes.
• Participate in DHP process for the Industrial site.
• Support CI Manager to develop a Value Stream Map of the site for a Product line to be defined with the Materials Management Team.
• Create and communicate WI's that are related to the improvements identified on the VSM workshop.
• Support implementation of improvements.
• Assist in conducting cost-benefit analyses of solutions

Job Summary/Objective:
The purpose of Southwire's College Programs is to help early career professionals bring together formal learning and

productive work to improve their ability to transition from school to work. Southwire provides interns and co-ops with

"real world" applications of their academic studies, helpful feedback and coaching, and consideration for employment

after graduation. Each student will have a variety of responsibilities and assigned projects that relate to their field of

study and be responsible for developing a timeline, progress updates, and final delivery in a senior leadership expo.

Note: All new interns and co-ops must begin in the summer rotation.

Key Responsibilities
