Job summary

Peet’s Coffee Inc. in Alameda, CA is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead EHS programs at our manufacturing site.

You will drive a Lean, pillar-based safety approach, cultivate a strong safety culture, and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements while partnering with teams across operations, quality, maintenance and leadership. The role emphasizes risk reduction through audits, RCAs, and structured improvements, coaching managers and frontline employees, and

Qualifications

5–7 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with ISO environmental management systems (EMS).
CSP and/or CIH certification preferred.
Lean manufacturing exposure and strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to translate observations and RCAs into practical improvements.

Responsibilities

Lead EHS programs for the Alameda site using a Lean, pillar-based approach.
Build a strong safety culture through behavior-based safety practices.
Develop EHS and industrial hygiene pillar standards and programs meeting OSHA requirements.
Create training and communications on safe work practices and environmental expectations.
Partner with regulators and internal teams during audits, RCAs, investigations, and corrective actions.
Lead risk-reduction projects with Lean tools and structured audits to reduce incidents.
