Job summary

Peet's Coffee is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager in Alameda, CA, to lead the site’s EHS programs and safety culture. You will drive Lean-based safety initiatives, partner with leadership, and ensure OSHA and environmental compliance while advancing continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes top-level safety leadership, audits, RCAs, and collaboration with regulatory agencies. Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in manufacturing EHS and preferred CSP/CIH credentials.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and pillar-based systems.
• Experience with ISO environmental management systems (ISO 14001).
• CSP and/or CIH certification is preferred but not required.
• Ability to translate observations, assessments, and RCAs into practical improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS programs at the Alameda site using Lean, pillar-based approach.
• Build a strong safety culture through behavior-based safety practices.
• Develop EHS pillar standards, routines, and programs that meet OSHA requirements and company expectations.
• Create training and communication on safe work practices and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal teams during audits, RCAs, and inspections.
• Lead risk-reduction projects using Lean tools and root-cause thinking to reduce incidents.
