Job summary

The City of Fort Wayne is seeking a Leaf Pick-Up Laborer for the Street Department's leaf collection season (October–December). This seasonal, outdoors role offers active, hands-on work in neighborhoods city-wide, with hours from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

No prior experience is required, and you’ll join a team focused on keeping our city clean and safe. Responsibilities include raking and collecting leaves, assisting with general cleanup, and operating tools such as leaf vacuums.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No previous experience or training required.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Dependability, good judgment, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures, humidity, rain, dust, grease, and loud conditions.
• A valid Indiana driver’s license is recommended but not required.
