The City of Falls Church Department of Public Works is seeking Seasonal Leaf Collection Workers to support the fall leaf program in Falls Church, VA. This on-site, temporary role runs October through December and pays $21 per hour for 40 hours per week.

You will collect leaves, assist with equipment, perform grounds maintenance tasks, and follow safety procedures as part of a cooperative Public Works team.

The City of Falls Church Department of Public Works is looking for Seasonal Leaf Collection Workers to join our team for the fall leaf collection season. What You’ll Do

As a Seasonal Leaf Collection Worker, you will help the Department of Public Works with the City's seasonal leaf collection program. Duties may include:

• Collecting and removing leaves from residential streets and designated collection areas
• Assisting with leaf collection equipment and vehicles
• Loading, moving, and disposing of leaves and other yard debris
• Performing general manual labor and grounds maintenance tasks
• Helping keep streets, public areas, and work sites clean and safe
• Following established safety procedures and using personal protective equipment
• Working cooperatively with Public Works crews and the community
• Performing other related duties as assigned

Schedule & Season

This is a seasonal, temporary position supporting the City's fall leaf collection operations. Work schedules may vary based on operational needs, weather, and leaf collection conditions. Early morning starts, weekends, extended hours, and occasional schedule changes may be required during peak collection periods. Leaf collection season is October – December.

Conditions of Employment

As a condition of employment, selected candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, physical examination and drug screening. The physical examination is intended to confirm the candidate's ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position, including strenuous outdoor and manual labor. Employment is contingent upon successfully meeting these requirements.

Rate of Pay

$21 per hour, no fringe benefits.
