Job summary

Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service seeks a Leadership Wage Instructor to support COAST in Corpus Christi and RAM in Brownsville. You will deliver online and classroom leadership training to skilled and semi-skilled learners, applying adult learning theories to maximize success.

Requires 4 years in a leadership role, 1 year in adult education, and TX county residency. A valid driver’s license is required; equivalency options exist.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four years of experience in a key leadership role, including leadership training.
• One year of adult education and/or training.
• Residency in Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Cameron, Duval, Hidalgo, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, or Willacy counties.

Responsibilities

• Provide online and classroom instruction and field-based training.
• Assist in creating or updating curriculum to meet learner needs.
• Collaborate with Leadership team and ITSI customers to deliver TEEX Leadership courses.
• Support COAST and RAM program objectives across multiple sites.

**Leadership Wage Instructor - COAST/TRAIN****$45.00 per hour****2 Positions Available****Temporary/Casual Staff (Part-Time)****Telecommuter - Brownsville or Corpus Christi, Texas****The Role at a Glance**The Wage Agency Instructor, under direction, assists in training various specialty skilled and/or semi-skilled courses within the TEEX Workforce Development Programs at the Coastal Bend Occupational Advanced Skills Training (COAST) in Corpus Christi, Texas and the RGV Advanced Manufacturing Hub (RAM) in Brownsville, Texas. Utilizes knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to help maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of the course instruction. Performs online and/or classroom instruction, field-based skills training, and/or may provide technical assistance in a specialty area. Uses a variety of media to present course material. May assist in creating new and/or updating curriculum content, when necessary, to meet learner needs. Works with the Leadership team and ITSI customers to deliver training in and assist in development of TEEX Leadership courses.This position reports to the Training Manager - ITSI Special Projects.**Qualifications of the Role*** High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.* Four years of experience in a key leadership role, including applicable experience instructing leadership training.* One year of adult education and/or training.* Due to the location of course facilitation, applicants must reside in any of the following counties to be considered: Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Cameron, Duval, Hidalgo, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, and Willacy.* Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.*Equivalency: Will consider two years of related experience (Listed Above) with an Associate's Degree in applicable field from an accredited college or university OR no prior experience with a Bachelor's Degree in applicable field from an accredited college or university.***About Us**The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) is an internationally recognized leader in emergency response training, workforce training, and technical assistance.
