Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) is seeking a Wage Agency Instructor for CDL/Heavy Equipment in Mesquite, TX. The role combines classroom and field instruction, delivering safety-focused training within CDL and heavy equipment programs.

As part of the Infrastructure Training And Safety Institute, you will update curriculum, provide technical guidance, and support adult learners. The position is temporary/casual with a flexible schedule, located within 40 miles of Mesquite.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of verifiable Class A CDL operations, including heavy equipment.
  • One year of adult education and/or training; CDL required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom and field instruction in CDL, heavy equipment and highway safety.
  • Provide technical assistance and update curriculum content as needed.
  • Support learners and report to the Training Manager.

Under the direction of the Transportation & Heavy Equipment Training Manager, the Agency Instructor - CDL/Heavy Equipment plays a vital role in delivering training within the CDL, heavy equipment and transportation highway safety programs. This position is responsible for conducting both classroom and field instruction, providing technical assistance, and utilizing various media to present course materials. The instructor will also assist in updating and modifying curriculum content as needed to meet learner’s needs. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a passion for adult education and technical training. If you are looking to grow and lead in a dynamic, mission-driven environment, we encourage you to apply.Candidates must live within a 40-mile radius of Mesquite, Texas or be willing to relocate within that radius prior to the start date.This position reports to the Training Manager, Transportation & Heavy Equipment.**Qualifications of the Role*** High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.* Five years of verifiable operations of a Class A commercial vehicle to include four years of heavy equipment and transportation operations to include experience on two or more of the following: Aerial Work Platforms, Backhoe, Bulldozer, Dump Truck, Excavator, Forklift, Front End Loader, Maintainer, and Skid Steer.* One year of adult education and/or training.* Must have a Valid Class A Texas Commercial Driver License that has been held for a minimum of five years.*Equivalency: Will consider an Associate’s Degree in applicable field field with three years of related experience (Listed Above) or a Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field with one year of related experience (Listed Above).
