Job Summary

The Leadership Search Director leads retained leadership search engagements focused on identifying, assessing, and recruiting executives, physician leaders, and senior healthcare leadership talent. This role serves as a strategic advisor to clients, executive stakeholders, and Boards of Directors while driving search strategy, candidate evaluation, market intelligence, and successful leadership placements. The Senior Consultant manages the full recruitment lifecycle, develops client relationships, and contributes to business development efforts that expand AMN Healthcare's leadership search and workforce consulting practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and successfully secure retained search engagements and workforce consulting opportunities with new and existing clients.
• Partner with clients and internal team members to develop recruitment strategies, including target markets, organizations, leadership profiles, and sourcing plans.
• Conduct intake meetings and gather client requirements to establish search objectives, candidate criteria, and engagement expectations.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams, physician leaders, search committees, and Boards of Directors throughout the executive search process.
• Provide regular updates to clients and stakeholders regarding search progress, candidate pipelines, market intelligence, and competitive talent insights.
• Source, engage, assess, and recruit executive-level candidates while ensuring an exceptional candidate experience throughout the search process.
• Conduct comprehensive executive assessments, evaluating leadership competencies, business impact, cultural alignment, and long-term organizational fit.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships that contribute to successful search outcomes and additional business opportunities.
• Deliver talent market insights, succession planning intelligence, and executive candidate evaluations to support client decision-making.
• Manage candidate and client communications throughout all phases of the recruitment engagement.
• Collaborate effectively with recruiting teams and business partners to achieve engagement objectives and client satisfaction.

Education & Years of Experience

Associate's Degree and 5-7 years of relevant professional experience; OR High School Diploma/GED and 7-9 years of relevant professional experience.

Required Qualifications

• Healthcare recruitment experience.
• Experience managing full-cycle recruitment processes and multiple concurrent executive search engagements.
• Demonstrated experience recruiting, assessing, and placing executives, physician leaders, and senior healthcare leadership talent.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership teams, search committees, and Boards of Directors throughout the executive search process.
• Experience conducting comprehensive executive assessments, including evaluation of leadership competencies, organizational fit, and strategic impact.
• Experience developing and executing executive search strategies for retained search engagements.
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor to clients in a consultative environment.
• Strong organizational, project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements while maintaining high-quality outcomes and exceptional client service.

Preferred Qualifications

• Physician executive and physician leadership recruitment experience.
• Experience supporting workforce consulting engagements.
• Experience leading business development initiatives and securing retained executive search engagements.
• Experience providing succession planning, leadership advisory, or executive talent consulting services.

Pay Rate

$84,000 - $104,500 Salary Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location. This position may include additional compensation such as bonus or commission. Please ask your recruiter for more information.
