Job summary

Nebraska Department of Correctional Services seeks a Development and Wellness Administrator to lead the Staff Training Academy and drive agency-wide professional development and learning initiatives. This role coordinates comprehensive wellness programs, trains staff, and ensures alignment with NDCS values and compliance standards.

You will collaborate with NDCS leadership, advise the SERVES team, and support leadership growth while managing day-to-day staff well-being in a corrections

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of related experience.
• Experience designing, leading, and evaluating staff training or workforce initiatives in a large organization.
• Experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring in professional settings.
• Administration of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Experience delivering engaging presentations to diverse audiences including frontline staff and executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead agency-wide professional development strategies, including direction and oversight of the Staff Training Academy.
• Supervise training staff and daily operations to align with NDCS values and workforce development goals.
• Collaborate with NDCS leadership to design and evaluate leadership development and employee retention initiatives.
• Oversee the agency-wide wellness program from direction through evaluation.
• Provide coaching and consultation to supervisors on leadership development and succession planning.
• Serve as the agency contact for the State Employee Assistance Program.
