Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; year‑for‑year substitution allowed for experience.
  • Preferred advanced degrees in OD, HR, education or public administration.
  • Experience designing, leading, and evaluating staff training in large organizations.
  • Experience teaching, coaching or mentoring in professional settings.
  • Administration of LMS and delivering engaging trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead agency-wide professional development strategies and the Staff Training Academy.
  • Supervise training staff and ensure programs align with NDCS values and goals.
  • Design and evaluate leadership development and employee retention initiatives.
  • Oversee the agency wellness program: development, implementation, and evaluation.

In this strategic role, you will direct the Staff Training Academy and lead agency-wide professional development and learning management initiatives to build workforce capability, support leadership growth, and ensure alignment with NDCS values and compliance standards.Additionally, this position coordinates comprehensive team member wellness and resiliency programs—encompassing development, implementation, training, evaluation, and tracking. You will serve as the primary agency contact for the State Employee Assistance Program and advise the SERVES team to actively support staff through the day-to-day and incident-related stress associated with corrections work.Information about the Department can be found at: www.corrections.nebraska.gov. Experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basisPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in organizational development, human resources, education, public administration, or a related field.Experience designing, leading, and evaluating staff training, professional development, or workforce initiatives in a large organization.Experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring in professional settings.Administration of Learning Management Systems (LMS).Experience in the delivery of engaging presentations and facilitate learning for diverse audiences, including frontline staff, supervisors, and executive leadership.Experience collaborating with executive leadership, HR, and legal teams.Other: Must have a valid driver's license.
