Job summary

Exelixis is seeking a Director of Engineering AI and Agentic to lead strategy, architecture, delivery, and operations of enterprise AI platforms and AI-enabled business solutions. You will shape reusable AI capabilities, drive production-grade agentic/ GenAI solutions, and partner across IT, security, data, and compliance to scale AI responsibly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in AI Engineering or Cloud platform Engineering.
• Leadership experience, overseeing cross-functional teams.
• Experience in full lifecycle system development of cloud based solutions and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the AI engineering strategy, roadmap, and operating model for enterprise AI platforms and solutions.
• Lead the design and delivery of scalable AI platform capabilities including agent orchestration and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Oversee end-to-end development of production-grade generative and agentic AI solutions for productivity and efficiency across functions.
• Apply product management practices including opportunity assessment, roadmap planning, and adoption planning.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into secure, governed AI solutions.
• Establish AI-native engineering standards and practices including CI/CD, testing, and observability.
• Ensure AI solutions are reliable, secure, auditable, and compliant with policies and regulations.
