Job summary

Center for American Progress in Washington, DC seeks an Associate Director of YouTube Content to lead CAP Action’s digital video strategy and grow the Fight for Progress YouTube audience. You’ll ideate long-format narratives, report analytics, and guide cross-platform clips for Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and YouTube.

You’ll collaborate with the Senior Director of Video, Digital Creative to translate policy into engaging visuals, supervise a small team, and mentor interns while maintaining

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• 5+ years shooting, producing, and editing videos for advocacy, news, or related media.
• Experience growing a YouTube channel with 1,000+ subscribers.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud; Premiere required.

Responsibilities

• Develop serialized YouTube content and campaigns with the Senior Director.
• Identify messaging opportunities and story structures across formats.
• Translate policy data into digestible, compelling narratives.
• Write scripts and provide on-camera hosting when needed.
• Edit or supervise edits and give guidance to editors.
• Create cross-platform clips for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
• Optimize titles, thumbnails, SEO and retention strategies.
• Mentor interns and junior staff; manage project workflows.
