Job summary

Mediant Health Resources in Providence, RI is seeking a Healthcare Workday Payroll & Financials Lead on a contract-to-hire basis. The role requires strong, recent hands-on Workday Payroll experience with ownership of configuration and payroll controls.

The candidate will own design decisions for Workday Financials and HCM modules, including FDM/worktags governance, journals, AP/Expenses, and close-readiness controls, with end-to-end Payroll-to-GL ownership.

Qualifications

• Workday Financials and HCM certifications required.
• Recent hands-on Workday Payroll experience with ownership of configuration (pay groups, earnings/deductions, calculation rules, retro processing, parallel testing, payroll controls).
• Proven Workday Financials configuration experience with governance of design decisions (FDM/worktags, accounting rules and journals, AP/Expenses, close-readiness controls).
• End-to-end ownership of Payroll-to-GL processes including costing/mapping, reconciliation, controls, and issue triage.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize Payroll-to-GL processes from configuration to reconciliation.
• Configure and maintain pay groups, earnings/deductions, and calculation rules with governance.
• Lead controls and testing cycles for payroll deployments and retro processing.
• Triage issues and ensure accuracy of payroll postings to GL with proper costing and journals.
