Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Long Beach, CA seeks a licensed structural engineer to lead wood-framed residential projects from concept to completion. You will perform expert analysis and design of wood systems, ensuring CBC and ASCE 7-16 compliance while delivering high-quality results.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with architects and contractors, and engage clients through proposals to ensure project satisfaction and ongoing relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Structural, or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Active California Civil P.E. license is required.
• 3–10 years of experience in wood-framed residential structures with leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage wood-framed residential projects from inception to completion.
• Perform structural analysis and design of wood-framed systems.
• Ensure CBC and ASCE 7-16 seismic/wind provisions compliance while maintaining quality.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and stakeholders to deliver projects seamlessly.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and grow their skills.
• Engage with clients through proposals and relationship management.
