Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Long Beach, CA is searching for a licensed senior structural engineer to lead complex anchorage design projects from concept through construction administration. The role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and technical leadership to deliver industry‑shaping structures.

You will mentor junior engineers, develop anchorage systems for architectural elements and equipment, ensure CBC/ASCE 7‑16 compliance, and communicate proposals to clients.

Qualifications

• Must have a structural design background across steel, timber, concrete, and masonry.
• Strong knowledge of CBC and ASCE 7-16 (Chs 13 & 15).
• Familiarity with DSA and/or HCAI project standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
• Develop anchorage systems for architectural elements, mechanical/equipment, and specialty structures.
• Assess framing systems for compliance and optimize solutions.
• Oversee and mentor junior engineers to maintain high technical standards.
• Draft project proposals and present solutions to clients.
