Job summary

Mobile Communications America in Troy, MI is seeking an experienced Communication Systems Technician III to support our Voice division statewide. You will install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain land mobile radio systems, collaborating with customers and project teams.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years (average 10+), hands-on expertise with two-way radio tech, and Motorola MOTOTRBO/P25 experience. This role offers safety-focused culture, competitive benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of hands-on two-way radio tech experience; average 10+ years.
Experience overseeing a team.
Strong ability to diagnose and repair complex radio systems.
Experience with Motorola MOTOTRBO/P25 certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, program, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair LMR systems.
Diagnose and resolve complex equipment, system, programming, and installation issues.
Perform preventive maintenance, firmware/software updates, and upgrades.
Complete service tickets, work orders, and documentation on time.
Support installation, testing, and commissioning of systems and components.
Collaborate with customers and teams to coordinate activities.
Assist with project planning, scoping, and estimating.
Provide technical support and communicate system performance needs.
Lead continuous improvement and mentor other technicians.
Maintain knowledge through ongoing training and safety adherence.
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
