Job summary

Speechify seeks a senior Windows desktop developer to own architecture and end-to-end delivery of high-quality apps across WinUI, C#, and XAML. You will ensure reliability, accessibility, and performance for millions of users while guiding technical direction and mentoring teammates.

You will collaborate with product, UX, QA, and fellow engineers to shape long-term roadmaps and drive architectural decisions for the Windows platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI (or similar), C#, XAML — ideally with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM).
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture, including interop between managed (.NET) and native code.
• Proven track record designing, building, and shipping production-quality desktop apps with emphasis on reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows and building accessible software.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, multi-threading/async programming.
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• User-centric mindset focused on polished, accessible experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and C++ as needed.
• Define and enforce best-practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts and ensure UI controls, focus management, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader support.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap.
• Take ownership of full lifecycle of features from conception to maintenance across releases.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and rendering issues.
