Job summary

Barnhart Crane & Rigging in Memphis, TN seeks a seasoned supervisor to lead a turbine erection crew during wind-power construction. You will direct a crew, allocate tasks, and drive productive cycle times for labor, equipment, and materials while upholding safety and QA standards.

You will coordinate with the Construction Manager, prepare daily work plans, monitor equipment and inspections, and document processes. Travel and long hours are expected in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in related work.
• Experience in a supervisory role in a related construction field.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain written documentation of daily activities.
• Flexible schedule, able to travel and work overtime.
• Pass drug screen, clean background.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise one team during turbine erection for wind-power construction.
• Establish high morale, assign tasks, and optimize cycle times for labor, equipment and materials.
• Demonstrate mastery of safety equipment and ensure inspections are completed.
• Inspect, maintain and demonstrate use of equipment and safety gear.
• Coordinate with Construction Manager to plan labor, equipment and materials daily/weekly.
• Document work processes and inspections to QA standards.
• Support Construction Manager in day-to-day activities and planning.
• Focus on safety of crews and care of large equipment and cranes.
• Travel and long hours are required.
• Participate in daily planning meetings with project personnel to communicate the work plan.
