Job summary

Alamo Industrial is seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to oversee welding and cutting operations, ensuring efficient production and quality compliance. You will analyze orders, coordinate staffing, and manage materials while mentoring a team of welders.

The role requires strong leadership, blueprint literacy, and a solid understanding of MIG welding, with responsibilities expanding to training, safety enforcement, and process improvement to meet schedules and output goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college/technical schooling preferred.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience.
• AWS certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine staffing levels and schedules based on workload and material demands.
• Requisition welding supplies and ensure inventory accuracy.
• Prioritize and assign work orders to meet production deadlines.
• Train workers in welding techniques and equipment use.
• Inspect workmanship and enforce quality standards, recommending improvements.
• Maintain production records and analyze departmental performance.
• Resolve work problems and assist with process improvements.
• Conduct staff meetings and training to boost performance; handle evaluations.
• Administer weld tests during recruitment; enforce safety rules.
• Coordinate with other supervisors to align department activities.
• May take on additional duties as needed.
