Job summary

Pennsylvania College of Technology is seeking a faculty member to lead and instruct in the Welding & Fabrication Engineering Technology department. The role includes teaching, advising, and maintaining records for welding programs, with opportunities to contribute to curriculum development and outcomes assessment.

The position emphasizes industry experience, effective communication, and willingness to participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Technology, or closely related discipline is required.
• Five (5) years of industrial welding experience is required.
• Teaching experience is preferred.
• Experience with outcomes assessment and ABET accreditation is preferred.
• Experience with Non-Destructive Testing, High Energy Density Processes and/or Robotics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and evaluate student performance in welding areas such as weld design, high energy density welding, fabrication of alloys, NDT, codes and procedures, and foundational welding processes.
• Advise, schedule, and maintain accurate records on students.
• Maintain regular office hours and fulfill duties per contractual guidelines.
• Write and update course syllabi; assist with curriculum review and development.
• Engage in professional development and technology upgrading activities.
• Contribute to College-wide committee work and departmental initiatives.
• Assist with laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance.
