TBEI in Lake Crystal, MN is seeking a skilled Lead for the Welding Department to guide a team of welders, organize workflows, and support continuous improvement while maintaining high craftsmanship and safety standards. You will collaborate with supervisors and other departments to meet production goals.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, effective communication, and hands-on welding expertise in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Preferred post‑secondary education with focus on manufacturing or trades.
• Experience leading welders and coordinating production goals.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to procedures.
• Excellent communication with team and supervisors.
• Experience with continuous improvement and Lean tools.
• Familiarity with BOMs, material flow and metal fabrication.
• Ability to learn operations including CNC, fabrication, welding, paint.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist welders to meet the production schedule.
• Assign tasks and distribute workload to meet daily goals.
• Communicate with employees, supervisors, and other areas.
• Maintain inventory levels for the work area.
• Support supervisor with performance appraisals and policy enforcement.
• Help achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity goals.
• Conduct continuous improvement activities to improve processes.
• Engage in welding with high craftsmanship and safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
