Job summary

Ultipro in Dayton, TN invites experienced shop welders to lead, train, and mentor junior mechanics while performing critical MIG welds and plasma-cutting operations on galvanized and stainless panels.

You will read engineering drawings, interpret fab sheets, enforce safety and Lean/5S standards, and support production goals through accuracy, teamwork, and proactive problem solving. Flexibility for varying shifts and independent work is expected.

Qualifications

• Mentor and train Mechanic II and Mechanic III Welders.
• Proficient with MIG welding and Plasma cutting processes/equipment.
• Read weld gauges, inclinometers, and tape measures.

Responsibilities

• Interpret BAC shop documents and perform cut-out operations using Plasma cutting on galvanized and stainless steel.
• Weld critical welds and joints as directed by engineering.
• Maintain accuracy, pace, and safety to minimize production downtime.
• Act as a training ambassador during onboarding of new BAC team members.
• Contribute to safety improvements and meet department safety, quality, and productivity goals.
• Flex within or outside the function to perform other duties as requested.
