Job summary

City of Atlanta is seeking a DWM Watershed Construction Maintenance Worker II to support the wastewater collection and water distribution systems in the Watershed Management department. The role involves operating heavy equipment, performing maintenance, and assisting crews on a lead/mentoring level.

You will respond to dispatch calls, draft reports, and ensure safety protocols while working with a team in Atlanta, GA.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures for water operations.
• Ability to operate a variety of light to heavy power equipment.
• Ability to document work status with photos and data input; ability to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and hand/power tools to support wastewater and water systems.
• Unblock service cleanouts and clear manhole spills to maintain sewer function.
• Draft inspection, task completion, and maintenance reports as needed.
• Clear debris from catch basins, storm lines, and grates to prevent blockages.
• Assist Crew Supervisors and other crews to support operations.
• Perform pre-trip equipment inspections and transport to landfills and depots.
• Attend safety trainings and stay updated on protocols.
