Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to support the Southwest Region, located in Louisiana or Texas. A Professional Civil Engineering License is required to be considered for this role.

You will design water and wastewater systems, evaluate pump stations and treatment facilities, and coordinate with staff and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget. Strong communication and team collaboration are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• PE licensure is required to practice.
• Experience with municipal water/wastewater projects preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
• Develop site plans including grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Coordinate project tasks, design, permitting, and construction with staff and inspectors.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to complete projects.
• Produce quality plan sets and ensure QA/QC adherence.
• Keep designs within budget and client constraints.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies to satisfy requirements.
• Monitor progress, budgets, and schedules to manage projects effectively.
