Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region, located in Louisiana or Texas. A valid P.E. license and 5–10 years of municipal design experience are required.

Responsibilities include designing water systems, pumping stations, site plans, and project management, with collaboration across teams and clients. Strong communication and adherence to QA/QC are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Civil Engineer license (P.E.).
• 5–10 years in engineering design.
• Municipal experience with pumps, pipelines, and treatment facilities.
• Hydraulic modeling experience with WaterCAD/WaterGEMS/InfoWater.

Responsibilities

• Design water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
• Develop site plans including grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Manage project tasks, design, permitting, and coordination with staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to complete projects.
• Produce quality plan sets and comply with QA/QC policy.
• Ensure designs stay within client budgets.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies as needed.
• Exhibit strong project management, tracking progress and schedules.
