Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid-level engineer to support water and wastewater projects on the West Coast. You will work with a diverse team to design facilities, pipelines, and pump stations, while contributing to reports and technical documents.

The role emphasizes independent work and leadership within multidisciplinary teams. You'll join a mentorship-driven environment with ongoing training through CDM Smith University and opportunities to participate in our Leadership Academy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• EIT certification or FE exam progress within 18 months.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and approve basic to moderately complex engineering designs for water and wastewater systems.
• Contribute to technical reports and documents to support project development.
• Support engineering tasks, perform design calculations, and prepare design reports, plans, and specifications with oversight by more senior staff.
• Ensure all project designs comply with state, and local regulations.
• Apply firm policies, procedures, and best practices across all engineering deliverables.
• Collaborate with sales and client service teams to prepare proposals.
