Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Senior Transportation – Water Resources Engineer to lead hydraulics efforts on transportation projects, focusing on hydrologic analyses, compliance, and hydraulic design.

The candidate should have a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET program, be a Virginia-licensed PE, and have 16+ years of related experience, including FEMA CLOMR/LOMR and HEC-based scour/stream design.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Virginia-licensed Professional Engineer required.
• 16+ years of related experience.
• VDOT hydraulics/erosion control design experience required.
• Hydrologic/hydraulic analysis including scour.
• Stormwater management design experience.
• Permit drawings experience.
• FEMA CLOMR/LOMR experience and coordination for submittals.
• HEC-18/HEC-20/HEC-23 experience.
• Aspiration to be hydraulics discipline lead.
• Develop complete contract documents (plans, estimates, specs).

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulics efforts for Virginia transportation projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and ensure compliance.
• Develop and review permit drawings and contract documents.
• Coordinate with reviews and obtain final approvals.
• Potential to progress toward Hydraulics Discipline Lead.
