Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Senior Transportation - Water Resources Engineer to lead hydraulics efforts for transportation projects. The role focuses on hydrologic analysis, compliance, and hydraulic design.

Ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering (ABET), is a licensed PE in Virginia, and has 16+ years of related experience, with VDOT hydraulics, erosion control, FEMA CLOMR/LOMR, and HEC project experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Must have 16+ years of related experience.
VDOT Hydraulics, Erosion Sediment Control design experience is required.
Hydrologic and hydraulic stream analysis including scour analysis.
Stormwater Management design and plan experience.
Permit Drawings experience.
FEMA FIS Flood Study CLOMR/LOMR experience and experience coordinating submittals for reviews and final approval.
HEC-18, HEC-20 and HEC-23 experience.
Experience as a Hydraulics Discipline Lead or a goal to work towards becoming a Discipline Lead.

Responsibilities

Lead the hydraulics efforts in Virginia for transportation projects.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and ensure design compliance.
Develop and review contract documents including plans, engineers estimates, bid quantities, and provisions.
