Job summary

The City of Mesa is seeking a Water Resources Plant Maintenance Specialist III for the Greenfield Water Reclamation Plant. This advanced, lead-level role trains and mentors operations staff, oversees day-to-day projects, and coordinates maintenance work while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will install, repair, and tune complex water-treatment equipment, analyze process data, and help develop performance appraisals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift operator certification within six months of hire.
• Valid Class D Arizona Driver’s License at hire date.
• ADEQ Grade II Wastewater Operator certification or equivalent.
• 40-hour HazWoper certification within six months; refresher annually.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced journey-level lead work, training and mentoring operations staff.
• Install, maintain, and repair water and reclamation equipment/facilities.
• Lead day-to-day projects, schedule work, and track timekeeping.
• Analyze trends, monitor equipment, and optimize plant processes.
