The City of Ames is seeking a Water and Pollution Control Plant Maintenance Specialist to support maintenance programs at the water and wastewater facilities. The role leads maintenance staff, troubleshoots complex equipment, and ensures safety and regulatory compliance in daily operations.

Responsibilities include performing electrical and mechanical maintenance, coordinating with teams, and maintaining records.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; five years mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience in water or wastewater facilities preferred.
• Valid Iowa CDL licenses may be required depending on plant.

Responsabilidades

• Lead maintenance staff on procedures and safety.
• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on plant equipment.
• Inspect and repair pumps, boilers, and screens.
• Install new equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Maintain operating records and reports.
