Job summary

1-800 Water Damage is seeking a Lead Technician with Xactimate experience to manage water damage restoration projects. You will lead a team, assess damage, perform restoration work, and prepare detailed cost estimates for insurance claims.

You will oversee project planning, execution, and quality control while ensuring safe practices and clear client communications. This role requires on-the-road work and on-call availability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in water damage restoration and mitigation.
• IICRC WRT certification is required (other IICRC certifications are favorable).
• Proficiency in MICA or other job documentation software for moisture mapping, drying logs, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Xactimate for estimating.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in physically demanding and adverse conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Project management: oversee restoration projects from start to finish including assessment, planning, execution, and quality control.
• Xactimate: prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates compliant with industry standards and insurance requirements.
• Lead restoration technicians, assign tasks, monitor progress, ensure quality.
• Damage assessment: identify affected areas and plan restoration techniques and equipment needs.
• Mitigation and remediation: supervise water extraction, drying, mold remediation, and related tasks.
• Equipment management: oversee operation and maintenance of restoration gear.
• Documentation: maintain detailed records and Xactimate estimates using industry software.
• Client communication: provide regular updates to clients and insurers.
• Safety compliance: enforce safety protocols for team and clients.
• Quality control: conduct inspections to meet standards and client expectations.
• Emergency response: be available on-call during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
