Job description

The city of Las Vegas is accepting applications for Sr. Plant Operator. This position leads, oversees, and participates in the operations of wastewater treatment. Controls, monitors and adjusts mechanical devices used to treat wastewater. Inspects and tests systems and water samples, and initiates changes.

You must attach a current/valid copy of your Nevada Grade III Wastewater Treatment Operator certification.

Minimum Requirements

• Three years of increasingly responsible wastewater treatment plant operations experience.
• High school graduation.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Forklift Certificate from the city of Las Vegas within 6 months of the date of initial appointment and maintenance thereafter.
• Aerial lift certification from the city of Las Vegas within 6 months of the date of appointment.
• State of Nevada Grade III Wastewater Treatment Operator certification on the date of application and maintenance thereafter.

Special Requirements

Certain city functions operate on a 24 hour per day, seven day per week schedule, and may require support on any shift. May be required to respond to calls for assistance during any shift.
